March 2027 Vacancy Analysis (Final)New Analysis

The final March 2027 vacancy award is out, and very little changed from the preliminary: 2 more awards (1,321 total), 2 additional Captain upgrades (329 total), and 1 fewer withhold (348). The most junior award in every category is the same. The analysis is updated to final. Bid Status Compare, When Can I Hold, and the other pages that reference vacancy data now reflect March. Congratulations to all awardees!

Visual Bidpack: Co-Terminal Predictions + New Prediction CardEnhancement

Predictive Mode now knows the departure airport. All co-terminals hold differently than the same trip from the main airport, in some cases 30 to 50 points more senior, and the predictions now account for it. The info card for each trip has also been redesigned for clarity: the verdict, a track showing your position vs the predicted cutoff and its historical range, and a short summary of how the prediction was built.

Visual Bidpack: Actual Awards + the Bid CalendarNew Feature

New for November bidding: Actual Awards and the Bid Calendar, both included with Pro. Actual Awards is the companion to Predictive Mode. Once the awards post on the 16th, every trip gets colored by what ACTUALLY happened: green means you could have held it, red means it went senior to you, and gray was left open. Click info to see the exact percentage range or single cutoff the sequence went at. October is already loaded, and November colors in on the 16th. The Bid Calendar lays your Bid List out on the actual bid period, with days flying, days off and TL totaled for each layer. In addition: Predictive Mode has been updated to include sequences that receive Holiday Pay. Good luck in November!

The preliminary March 2027 vacancy award is out, with the full breakdown. The wavetops: 1,319 awards (up 16% from December), 327 upgrades, and withholds more than doubled to 349. The most junior Captain award went to #14,135 at LGA 320, a May 2024 hire. 110 of those withholds are pilots bidding out of LGA 320 INT, most of them new hires who joined the seniority list this summer or later. Heads up: Bid Status Compare, When Can I Hold, and the other pages that reference vacancy data only update on a final vacancy award, so they will not reflect March until the final is published. The analysis will be updated when the final award lands. Congratulations to all awardees!

The two Pro briefings are now pages on the site, in addition to emails. The Line Check puts your line or reserve award onto a customized page the day the awards drop: where your line landed, how far above or below you were from every trip length, how the staffing fell out in your bid status for the month, and for reserves, the coverage day landscape and how far you are from escaping it. The Overnight does the same for the bidpack on the 5th: what’s new and what changed in layovers and trip types, with three-month trends. Each page is selectable for any bid status, so you can view the shape of the flying across the entire system and review what you could have held. The emailed briefings with personalized analysis still arrive on the 5th and the 16th.

Visual Bidpack: Bid List Transfer Codes + Bid Window FixesEnhancement

Everything you build and save on this site (IMAX numbers, projected Career paths, Bid Lists, etc) is saved on your own device, not on a server in the cloud. Best for privacy, but troublesome when building a Bid List to import to PBS on your preferred device, since the PBS Vision extension requires desktop Chrome. Two new buttons on the Bid List fix that: Copy transfer code packs the list into a code you can email, text yourself, or transfer with iCloud notes, and Paste transfer code then loads that Bid List onto any other device or browser. Build your list on the go with your iPad in landscape mode, send it to Desktop Chrome that night on your laptop and put it into PBS with the PBS Vision extension. Also updated: the Release filter is now a window (After and Before) so after-midnight releases no longer sneak past a Before-only setting, DJT sequences carry the correct Z prefix for PBS, and Line Intel now shows when last month’s award actually went past you even if the 14-month median has not caught up yet.

Introducing PBS Vision, the Chrome extension that shows you your personal holdability right on the PBS bidding page for every single sequence. Hover any pairing and a card appears with your odds, green to red, along with that sequence’s award history dating back over a year. Data is built from nearly 800,000 real awards and sampled to your exact seniority. New this month: bid list import. Build your bid list in Visual Bidpack, click Send to PBS, and the extension enters every sequence into your ballot: preview first, deliberate pace, full read-back when it finishes, and one-click undo. It never sees or stores your company password. Runs in Chrome or Edge on a Mac or PC. Included with Pro at no additional cost, and the setup takes about 30 seconds.

Visual Bidpack: Max Duty Day Filter and Predictability EnhancementsEnhancement

Visual Bidpack now offers filters and sortability for duty day length. The new Max Duty Day filter (next to Min Layover) keeps only the sequences whose longest duty period is at or under the cap you pick, from 8 to 13 hours. A new Max Duty column sits next to Max ODL and is sortable, so you can sort sequences by their longest duty day. It carries into the CSV export as well. Additionally, Predictive Mode now breaks out separate holdability predictions for weekday-only dates of sequences that occur on both weekdays and over weekends. To support better viewing, Visual Bidpack now renders one zoom level smaller by default, so the table fits more columns with less side-to-side scrolling. Phone view is unchanged.

With the March Vacancy announcement right around the corner, please check out the site’s newest tool: Bid Status Compare. This page allows you to pick up to six bid statuses and see your forward-looking seniority projection for each one, side by side. Toggle pay on to see each path’s pay rate beside its seniority. Bonus: Your personalized career milestones such as ability to hold a line and to hold different trip types (1-4 days for narrowbody) are displayed right on the chart, helping you compare paths. Finally, recent vacancy data is displayed for your convenience and the page shows you your expected landing percentage for the next two vacancy runs if you bid into that status. The September 2026 bidpack is live in Visual Bidpack for Pro subscribers, with the holdability prediction model updated to target the new month. The Double Up Finder is ready with September data as well — potential double ups are flagged with your personal holdability. One heads-up as you browse: The station code for West Palm Beach has officially been changed in the bidpack data for the September bid month — trips that previously showed PBI now show DJT. Earlier months on the site keep PBI, as published at the time.

“When Can I Hold” RedesignNew Feature

The “When Can I Hold” projection engine is now aware of vacancy data. Previously, the projections only looked at the current list, the seniority it took to hold a seat, future retirements, and growth. That model had a blind spot if the company rapidly grew or shrank a bid status, or a bid status experienced more than normal turnover during a vacancy run. Every page now runs through a single shared projection model, and that model takes vacancy awards into account. Bid statuses that went junior to you on a recent vacancy run will now say so. In addition, projected dates beyond the vacancy run are updated accordingly. The previous “smooth” trajectory curve has been replaced with a Vacancy Runs card that shows how the last six vacancies moved that bid status. I think you will find it useful. The 14 month trend cards have also been redesigned. Previously, these cards just showed trends for the seniority numbers themselves. That was not very actionable data considering the expansion of the list itself as the company grows...so every bid status appeared to be getting “more junior” when relatively speaking, that was not necessarily the case. The cards have been redesigned to show relative seniority trends instead, which take the growing list into account.

Click the double up chip and see your options and pay possibilities, then click a paired sequence to open up a combined HSS with the overlap day and the TAFB recalculated the way the company builds it. Add both trips to your Bid List by date for easy reference for PBS bidding.
